There’s something almost magical about receiving a handwritten note in the mail. It’s a simple gesture, but one that always seems to inspire a smile on even the cloudiest of days. Opening the mailbox expecting a stack of bills and junk mail and instead being met with a thoughtful hello from another human being is one of my favorite things in life. When I discovered Postcrossing, a free service which connects you with postcard enthusiasts from across the globe, I was absolutely thrilled! I was looking around online for a safe way to exchange addresses with others who wanted to send and receive postcards, and the search led me to their website. The premise sounded good to me, so I decided to give it a try! I became a Postcrosser back in August, and since joining I have sent 10 postcards and received 11! Every card has been really thoughtful and unique, and many of them came from folks on the other side of the world!

Receiving these cards in the mail and replies on Postcrossing from folks who have received cards I have sent them has brought an extra little sprinkling of joy to my life, and I fully intend to continue on with this service for as long as it remains! I highly recommend checking it out, and I’ve become quite the Postcrossing evangelist any time I get the chance to tell people about it.
Little did I know when I joined, but a fellow Postcrosser recently sent me a card telling me about World Postcard Day, which is rapidly approaching on October 1st! It seems I joined Postcrossing at a most opportune time indeed!
I’ve got a couple postcards to send out on Postcrossing on World Postcard Day, but I want to send a lot more! I’ve got an address book for my close friends and family, but I would like to extend the offer to receive a postcard to anyone who would like one! I completely understand if you don’t want to give out your address (there is a reason I am not making my own address available to receive any postcards from anyone reading this), but if you are comfortable with trusting me with your address, please feel free to fill out this form below and I’ll send you a card on World Postcard Day! I’m the only one who will see your address, and I will only use it to send you that postcard. (The form has been removed now that World Postcard Day is over.)
Here are all of the postcards I have received so far from my fellow Postcrossers! I also post them to my Bluesky account when I am able to (sensitive details always redacted, of course).
